The Amazing Spider-Man 2

Storyline

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is an ambitious, visually spectacular, and heart-wrenching superhero blockbuster directed by Marc Webb, charting Peter Parker's desperate struggle to reconcile his extraordinary heroic duties with his profound devotion to Gwen Stacy. As Spider-Man reaches the zenith of his public adulation, zipping effortlessly through the gleaming skyscrapers of Manhattan, Peter is constantly haunted by the deathbed promise he made to Captain Stacy to stay away from Gwen to keep her safe. Their bittersweet romance faces severe strain just as an insecure, neglected Oscorp electrical engineer named Max Dillon suffers an industrial vat accident with genetically modified electric eels, re-emerging as the godlike, energy-siphoning supervillain Electro. Meanwhile, Peter is reunited with his estranged childhood friend Harry Osborn, who has returned to inherit Oscorp following his father's death, only to discover that he is afflicted with the same fatal genetic retroviral illness. Convinced that Spider-Man's miraculous blood holds the sole biological antidote to his condition, Harry's desperation turns into venomous fury when Peter refuses out of fear that the alien blood will kill him. Betrayed and unhinged, Harry breaks Electro out of Ravencroft Institute, infiltrates Oscorp's subterranean Special Projects division, and injects himself with unstable spider venom, transforming into the malevolent Green Goblin. In a thunderous, citywide confrontation that knocks out New York's power grid, Spider-Man and Gwen team up to defeat Electro, leading into a breathless, fateful clocktower duel that culminates in one of the most devastating, emotionally seismic tragedies in comic book cinema. Propelled by visceral 3D visual effects and Hans Zimmer's pulsating score, it is a poignant tribute to hope, grief, and resilience.
