Storyline

Fan is a razor-sharp, psychologically intense, and edge-of-the-seat thriller directed by Maneesh Sharma, featuring an astonishing, daring dual performance by Shah Rukh Khan that subverts the traditional celebratory tropes of stardom. The narrative introduces Gaurav Chandna, a twenty-four-year-old middle-class youth living in Delhi whose entire identity and existence revolve around his fanatical, devotional idolatry of mega-superstar Aryan Khanna, whom he eerily resembles. However, when Gaurav assaults a rival actor to defend Aryan's honor and expects praise, an appalled and deeply disturbed Aryan has Gaurav arrested, locked in a cell, and sternly reprimanded, declaring that fans do not own their idols. Shattered, humiliated, and consumed by visceral betrayal, Gaurav's blind worship morphs into a lethal, psychotic obsession with destroying the very man he once worshipped.
