Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness

Storyline

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, directed with horror-infused cinematic bravura by Sam Raimi, is a thrilling, surreal, and high-velocity journey through the perilous, uncharted dimensions of the multiverse. The supernatural crisis erupts in the streets of New York when Doctor Stephen Strange and the Sorcerer Supreme, Wong, rescue America Chavez—a terrified teenager endowed with the singular, involuntary power to punch star-shaped portals directly into parallel universes. America is being ruthlessly pursued across realities by demonic entities seeking to violently extract and absorb her powers. Seeking mystical counsel, Strange approaches Wanda Maximoff, only to discover with chilling dread that Wanda has already succumbed to the corrupting influence of the Darkhold, an ancient grimoire of black magic. Broken by grief over the loss of her synthetically manifested children in Westview, Wanda has embraced her terrifying destiny as the Scarlet Witch, determined to seize America's multiverse-traveling abilities at any cost to reside in an alternate universe with her sons. What ensues is a relentless, reality-hopping cat-and-mouse nightmare: as Wanda dismantles the defenses of Kamar-Taj and decimates alternate-universe superheroes, Strange and America are cast adrift across mind-bending parallel realities. Meeting the secret Council of the Illuminati on Earth-838, Strange must reckon with his own dangerous multiversal variants and master the macabre art of dream-walking inside a decomposing corpse to wage a musical-note sorcery duel against a nearly omnipotent witch. Multiverse of Madness is an exhilarating, horror-flavored Marvel thrill ride.
