Biography

Edward Thomas Hardy CBE is an English actor and producer renowned for his magnetic intensity, physical transformations, and vocal eccentricities across arthouse cinema and global blockbusters. Trained at Drama Centre London, Hardy broke out in Nicolas Winding Refn's biographical crime drama Bronson (2008) and Stuart: A Life Backwards. He achieved worldwide stardom collaborating with Christopher Nolan across three monumental masterworks: as the smooth-talking identity forger Eames in Inception (2010), the hulking masked terrorist Bane in The Dark Knight Rises (2012), and the stoic Spitfire pilot Farrier in Dunkirk (2017). Hardy earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor for his villainous, feral turn as John Fitzgerald in Alejandro G. Iñárritu's The Revenant (2015), headlined George Miller's multi-Oscar-winning action masterpiece Mad Max: Fury Road (2015) as Max Rockatansky, played twin gangsters the Kray twins in Legend, and anchored Marvel's multi-billion-dollar Venom superhero franchise. On television, his unforgettable turns as Alfie Solomons in Peaky Blinders and James Delaney in Taboo cemented his status as one of the most compelling and unpredictable actors of his generation.
